Packers scratch Shields, Burnett

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have scratched starting cornerback Sam Shields and starting safety Morgan Burnett from Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Shields had been listed as doubtful this week after missing practice with a knee injury, while Burnett had been listed as questionable with a calf injury.

Running back James Starks, who was limited in practice this past week by an ankle injury, is active.

The Saints, who’d already announced center Jonathan Goodwin (knee, ankle) and running backs Pierre Thomas (shoulder) and Khiry Robinson (forearm) were out, also scratch healthy receivers Joseph Morgan and Nick Toon, along with cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

Green Bay had already announced defensive end Datone Jones (ankle) would be out. The Packers healthy scratches include linebacker Carl Bradford and receiver Jeff Janis.
