Huff chosen chief judge of Va. appeals court

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Glen Huff will succeed Walter Felton as chief judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals.

The court announced Huff’s election to a four-year term as head of the state’s intermediate appeals court Friday. Huff was elected by majority vote of his fellow appeals court judges. He will assume the leadership post after Felton’s retirement at the end of the year.

Huff is from Virginia Beach. The General Assembly elected him to an eight-year term on the appeals court in 2011. Before that, he practiced law for nearly 35 years.
