61-year-old man critical after DC-area hit-and-run

WASHINGTON (AP) — A 61-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in northern Virginia.

National Park Service police say the man was hit in the northbound lanes of the George Washington Memorial Parkway just before the Spout Run exit around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Police say the car then fled.

Police don’t have a description of the vehicle and did not immediately release details of the hit-and-run Tuesday.

The man who was hit was being treated at a local hospital and remained in critical condition Tuesday.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run to call them at 202-610-8737.
