WALDORF, Md. (AP) — Police say someone intentionally set fire to a Charles County Halloween store for the second time in less than two months.

The Maryland fire marshal’s office says the fire at the Spirit Halloween store in Waldorf was set early Monday morning and caused about $500,000 in damage before firefighters extinguished it.

Officials say whoever started the fire used an accelerant. There was no evidence of robbery.

The store also was set on fire on Sept. 28, though that one caused much less damage, about $1,000’s worth.

Monday’s fire also comes exactly one week after an arson at a gun range next to the Halloween store. The Oct. 13 fire at Fred’s Sporting Store caused about $1 million in damage. The store also had been robbed.
