Security guard accidentally shoots woman in Md.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police say a security officer accidentally shot a bystander at a restaurant in College Park after firing his weapon at two men who were attacking him.

Police say two men attacked the security guard at a McDonald’s just before 4 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the guard tried to use pepper spray on the attackers but it did not work. During the struggle the guard fired his weapon and struck a woman who was nearby.

The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
