Prairie View beats MVSU 52-19

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) — Jerry Lovelocke threw three touchdowns in Prairie View’s 52-19 rout of Mississippi Valley State on Saturday.

Lovelocke passed for 207 yards and Greg Thurmond had 152 yards and two touchdowns on three catches, including an 83-yard TD early in the third quarter for the Panthers (3-4, 3-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

Johnta Hebert scored two touchdowns and rushed for 119 yards on 13 carries. His first TD came 15 seconds into the game when he returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for the first Panthers’ score. The other came on a 77-yard play late in the second quarter.

A third Christopher Barrick field goal put Prairie View up 38-0 at halftime.

Jovante Ham scored a running TD late in the third quarter and the Panthers led 52-0.

The Delta Devils (2-6, 1-5) scored all their points in the fourth quarter on two Julian Stafford touchdown passes and a Patrick Ivy rush.
