Saints cut Crabtree, add linebacker Davis

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The Saints have cut tight end Tom Crabtree, who was signed after a Week 5 shoulder injury to Jimmy Graham but never played in a game.

New Orleans replaced Crabtree on the active roster with linebacker Todd Davis, who had been on the practice squad.

Graham leads the Saints with 34 catches for 376 yards and three touchdowns. He returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday and Friday. He was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Detroit.

New Orleans also needed another linebacker after linebackers Ramon Humber and Kyle Knox were ruled out for Sunday because of ankle injuries.

The Saints had a bye last week.
