Oklahoma’s Knight leaves game briefly

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight briefly left Saturday’s game against No. 14 Kansas State after taking a hit to the back while on the ground after a run.

Knight headed to the locker room with 8:44 remaining in the first quarter. Backup quarterback Cody Thomas stepped in for the rest of the drive and led the No. 11 Sooners to a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

Knight returned for Oklahoma’s next possession.
