Austrian police arrest terrorist suspects

VIENNA (AP) — Austrian police have arrested a couple alleged to have trained with radical Islamic fighters in Syria and sought in Germany on suspicion of terrorism.

Law enforcement officials say a 20 year-old man and his 33-year old partner were detained early Thursday on a train headed for Germany shortly before it reached the border. An 8-year old child traveling with them has been handed over to childcare authorities.

State prosecutor spokesman Markus Kitz says an extradition hearing is set for next week.
