Well, a popular nightclub district is fighting back. Actually, peeing back.
A community group in Hamburg, Germany’s St. Pauli’s district, tired of the smell, has applied special water-repellent paint, often used in shipbuilding, on several walls that are often urinated upon.
The hydrophobic product, called Ultra Ever-Dry, sprays fluid back at the person standing near the wall.
In a YouTube video that’s received more than 2 million views in a week, a neighborhood organizer is shown posting signs that read “Hier nicht pinkeln! Wir pinkeln zurueck,” which translates to “Do not pee here! We pee back!”
The “pee back” deterrent isn’t cheap, thought. It costs about $700 to paint a 6-square-meter area.
