North Dakota State beats Southern Illinois 38-10

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Top-ranked, unbeaten North Dakota State broke away with three scores after halftime to defeat Southern Illinois 38-10 on Saturday, extending its Division I-best win streak to 30 games.

The FCS No. 1 Bison (6-0, 2-0 Missouri Valley Conference) never trailed, riding the arm of Carson Wentz for 174 yards and two TDs along with rushing touchdowns from John Crockett, Chase Morlock and Wentz.

Adam Keller kicked a 46-yard field goal late in the first quarter, and Wentz scored on a 13-yard run to build a 10-0 lead.

The Salukis (5-2, 2-1) came as close as 10-7 when MyCole Pruitt hauled in a 26-yard pass from Mark Ianotti. Pruitt, who came in with three straight 100-yard receiving games, was held to 55 on seven catches.

NDSU scored three times in the final 21 minutes, including a 75-yard pass from Wentz to Trevor Gebhart and a 48-yard run by Morlock.
