James Madison routs Towson 62-7

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Vad Lee threw three touchdown passes to lead James Madison to a 62-7 rout over Towson on Saturday.

Lee’s second pass was a 48-yard TD strike to Brandon Ravenel on the third play of the Dukes’ opening drive. Lee then hit DeAndre’ Smith for a 21-yard score to close out the first quarter, and connected with Smith again for a 1-yard touchdown late in the third.

The Dukes’ defense accounted for the scoring in the second quarter. Rhakeem Stallings returned a fumble for a 27-yard touchdown. On Towson’s next series, Jimmy Moreland scored on a 26-yard interception return and the Dukes led 27-0 at the break.

John Miller ran for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring for James Madison (4-3, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

Darius Victor ran for a 1-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to avoid the shutout for Towson (2-5, 0-3).
