Liberty, airport host flying competition

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — Flight teams from four states and the District of Columbia will compete in an intercollegiate flying event in Virginia.

The Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport and Liberty University are hosting the 2014 National Intercollegiate Flying Association completion. University teams from D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia will compete, along with a high school team from Denbigh Aviation Academy.

The Short Field Landing events will be held Friday.
