Colts look forward to Irsay’s return

HOUSTON (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts are looking forward to the return of owner Jim Irsay, who was suspended for the first six weeks of the season after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.

Coach Chuck Pagano says: “We talked about it in the locker room … we have 10 days to heal up and the best thing is that we get our boss back, we get our owner back.”

Irsay’s suspension stemmed from a March traffic stop in which police found various prescription drugs and more than $29,000 in cash.

He was also fined $500,000 and barred from being anywhere near his team until after Thursday night’s game.

Pagano says Irsay has been with the Colts in spirit, “but I can’t wait to have him in that locker room with us again and have him back in the building and grinding away with him.”
