Natural Bridge Hotel in Va. to get $4m renovation

NATURAL BRIDGE, Va. (AP) — The Natural Bridge Hotel is getting a $4 million makeover.

The hotel’s new owner, the Virginia Conservation Legacy Fund, plans to renovate the hotel’s 156 rooms. The project is part of a 10-year renovation planned by the Virginia Conservation Legacy Fund.

Media outlets report that the conservation group announced the project Wednesday.

The group acquired the hotel, the iconic naturally formed limestone Natural Bridge and 1,500 surrounding acres in February.

The 215-foot-high, 90-foot-long bridge was once owned by Thomas Jefferson. The centuries-old tourist attraction is located south of Lexington. It’s destined to become part of the state park system.
