Predators put Cullen, Stalberg on injured reserve

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Nashville Predators have placed forwards Matt Cullen and Viktor Stalberg on injured reserve to start the regular season, while forward Mike Fisher has been designated a non-roster player after rupturing his right Achilles tendon during the offseason.

The Predators announced the moves Tuesday. They open the season hosting Ottawa on Thursday night.

Stalberg suffered an upper-body injury Sept. 24 in the first period of an exhibition with Tampa Bay.

The roster moves leave Nashville with 22 players on the active roster with 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
