BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi police officials say a car bomb in a busy commercial neighborhood in southwest Baghdad has killed at least 13 people.

Officials say the bombing happened in the al-Mashtal neighborhood. At least 31 people, many of them police officers, were wounded in the blast. Most of those killed were civilians.

Hospital officials confirmed the casualties. All of the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak with the media.
