Burbank-bound flight diverted to LA airport

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Burbank-bound jetliner has been diverted to Los Angeles International Airport after an indication light linked to the aircraft’s flap came on.

A Southwest Airlines spokesperson says the captain of Flight 1429 from Sacramento decided to land at LAX on Sunday afternoon as a precaution. The plane landed safely and its 123 passengers were taken to Burbank by bus.

The plane was being checked out by Southwest mechanics.
