Area restaurants raise funds for Harvey victims

WASHINGTON — The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington said more than 10 of the DC-area’s largest restaurant groups have signed on to host and promote “DC Dines Out for Houston” on Thursday.

Among the largest restaurant owners on the list are Andy Shallal of Busboys and Poets, Jose Andres and Think Food Group, plus Michael Babin of Neighborhood Restaurant Group.

Restaurants taking part will donate between 1 and 5 percent of proceeds to a Hurricane Harvey relief fund of their choice.
