1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Annapolis shooting

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Annapolis police say a man is dead and a woman was seriously injured in a shooting in an Annapolis apartment.

The shooting was reported about 7:40 a.m. Officers say they found 49-year-old Arthurdella Harris and 54-year-old Tony Smith suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say Harris and Smith lived at the apartment.

The two were flown to Shock Trauma, where, police say, Smith died. Authorities say Harris was undergoing surgery.

Police say Smith apparently shot Harris twice and then shot himself.
