2nd child dies from Va. day care fire injuries

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — A Lynchburg fire official says a second child has died from injuries suffered in a fire at a day care.

Lynchburg Fire Department battalion chief Jason Campbell tells WDBJ-TV (http://bit.ly/ZPWOva ) that the child died on Wednesday night. The child’s name, age and cause of death haven’t been released.

The fire occurred last Friday at a day care operated by Doris Lee in her home.

On Sunday, 21-month-old Kayden Rain Curtis died from injuries suffered in the fire. A third child was injured and taken to a hospital

Campbell had said earlier that the fire was cooking-related.

City officials have said the day care didn’t have a license.
