Prince George’s County schools CFO resigns

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — The chief financial officer for Prince George’s County public schools has resigned after the Maryland Insurance Administration found he committed insurance fraud.

Education officials said in a joint statement Monday that Colby White’s resignation and that of his wife are effective immediately. White’s wife, Keisha White, worked for the school system as an internal auditor and also was found responsible for insurance fraud.

The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1DvLxzz ) reports that the Whites did not respond to requests for comment.

The pair had been placed on administrative leave with pay on Friday. They each were ordered to pay $3,000 each for filing a fraudulent insurance claim for a wedding ring.

Colby White has worked for the school system since 1995. Keisha White joined the schools in 2001.
