Rethinking student loans

Peter Morici, an economist and professor at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, says about 17 percent of delinquent student loans are owed by folks over the age of 50. Many students today end up with six-figure debts they can’t pay off while their majors don’t prepare graduates for much. Morici says the process of taking out loans needs to be rethought.
