MCFRS Evacuates Bethesda Homes After Propane Tank Leak

MCFRS (file photo)MCFRS and B-CC Rescue Squad crews are evacuating homes in the area of 7100 block of Fairfax Road on Monday because of an active propane tank leak.

Crews were called to the area at about 11:50 a.m. for the report of a gas tank struck.

MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said homes were being evacuated just after 12 p.m. and several neighborhood streets in Edgemoor were closed off (including parts of Fairfax, Exeter, Exfair, Denton and Glenbrook Roads, plus Hampden Lane) as a Hazmat team looks for the leak.
