Lamar routs Texas College 73-0

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Caleb Berry threw two touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Lamar to a 73-0 rout of Texas College of the NAIA on Saturday night.

Berry connected with Reggie Begelton for a 6-yard score and Mark Roberts with a 21-yard strike. Berry’s 32-yard touchdown run gave Lamar a 42-0 lead with 8:22 to play in the first half. Berry had 112 yards passing and ran for 34.

Carl Harris ran for 153 yards and a 13-yard touchdown. Ronnie Jones Jr. scored on a 38-yard punt return and Ronald Barrett scored on a 52-yard interception return for Lamar (2-1). It was the most points the Cardinals have scored since putting up 56 against Nicholls State in 2013.

Texas College (0-3) was held to 31 yards on the ground and 74 yards passing.
