Southern Illinois tops SE Missouri 50-23

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Mark Iannotti threw six touchdown passes, tying a school record, to lead Southern Illinois over Southeast Missouri 50-23 Saturday.

Southern Illinois (3-0) led early, as a pair of Iannotti touchdown passes — of 6 yards to Adam Fuehne and 33 yards to Malcolm Agnew — made it 14-0 just 7:25 into the game.

Agnew added a 1-yard touchdown run less than 2 minutes later and the rout was on.

Southeast Missouri (1-2) cut it to 21-13 in the middle of the second on a pair of Ryan McCrum field goals — from 43 and 38 yards — and Tim Hamm-Bey’s 56-yard interception return for a touchdown.

But the Salukis answered as Iannotti found Tay Willis and MyCole Pruitt for scores and SIU led 35-20 at half.

Iannotti tossed two more touchdown strikes in the second half. LaSteven McKinney gathered a 6-yard toss and Pruitt’s second came from 16 yards out.
