Stony Brook runs past American International, 20-3

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Stacey Bedell raced 72 yards for a touchdown midway through the first quarter as Stony Brook ran past Division II American International 20-3 on Saturday.

The win allowed the Seawolves (1-2) to break into the win column after losses to Bryant and Connecticut to start the season.

Stony Brook rushed for 300 yards while holding the Yellow Jackets to 102 yards passing and 94 yards rushing.

Bedell carried 12 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns. James Kenner carried 10 times for 102 yards and a touchdown, but fumbled after a 17-yard run to stop a drive inside the AIC 20 yard line with under four minutes to play.

Jared Hulsey kicked a 23-yard field goal to account for AIC’s scoring. Shawn Brathwaite was 8 of 14 for 102 yards to lead the offense.
