LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Gambler’s Roll led all the way to win the $41,160 feature for 2-year-old maidens by a half-length, giving jockey Fernando Perez his third winner on the card at Los Alamitos on Friday.

Gambler’s Roll ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.43 and paid $8.80 and $5.

Unblunted returned $3.80, while St. Joe Bay, the 3-2 favorite, was another 3 1/2 lengths back in third. There was no show wagering because of the four-horse field.

Perez also won the fourth and fifth races, giving him six winners overall to lead the jockeys’ standings at the fall meet.
