WASHINGTON – Toyota’s i-Real looks like something seen on the Jetsons. Some call it a mobile sofa while Toyota calls it a “personal mobility vehicle.”

The i-Real is a three-wheeled, one-passenger vehicle that runs on a lithium-ion battery. It’s like a futuristic wheelchair — that gets up to 20 miles per hour.

With two joysticks to maneuver it, the vehicle has perimeter-monitoring sensors to detect its surroundings.

The Daily Mail reports that Toyota’s i-Real was a big hit at the Beijing Motor Show.

There’s no word yet on when these will hit showrooms (they first debuted in 2007), but when they do, have the money ready.
