WASHINGTON — A new development in connection with an unsolved murder at the Little River Glen retirement community in Fairfax, Virginia, emerged Friday.

The retirement community is where 77-year-old Cong Huu Nguyen was found dead in his apartment with trauma to his upper body on April 20.

Now, Fairfax County police believe they have a person of interest in the case, someone who knew the victim well.

But there’s a twist.

Police said the person of interest flew to Vietnam the day after the murder and was later found dead in the country.

Investigators have not released that person’s name and are still waiting to get a positive identification on the body.

Police said they’re checking to see if money was the murder motive.
