Showtime pulling plug on ‘Nurse Jackie’

NEW YORK (AP) — “Nurse Jackie” will soon be making her rounds one last time.

Showtime announced Wednesday that the comedy starring Edie Falco will end its run after an upcoming seventh season. The show wrapped up its sixth season in June and has just begun production on the final season.

Falco won an Emmy for her role as a drug-addicted medical professional. The series premiered in 2009.

A Showtime representative said air dates for the last season haven’t been scheduled, so it’s impossible to know when the finale will take place.
