Roughly 2,000 power outages reported in Ballston

WASHINGTON — Roughly 2,000 homes are without power in Ballston.

According to Richard Zuercher of Dominion Power, a short in an underground cable caused the outages.

Crews are currently on the scene working to repair the cable. As of 10:30 a.m., Dominion Power restored more than half of the outages by rerouting the power. Zuercher says power will likely be restored to the remaining homes after noon.
