11-year-old bicyclist injured in hit-and-run

WASHINGTON — An 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle with his father was hit from behind and the vehicle fled the scene in Laurel. Anne Arundel County police are searching for the vehicle described as a minivan. The boy remains in the hospital.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Whiskey Bottom Road near Route 198. Police say they are looking for an older model red minivan with tinted windows that took off in the direction of Brock Bridge Road, police say.
