Jackson State beats Va Lynchburg 59-0

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — La Montiez Ivy went 16 of 23 for 246 yards and three touchdown passes and Jackson State rolled over Virginia University of Lynchburg 59-0 on Saturday.

Jackson State (2-0) opened the scoring early, as Dan Williams hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass from Ivy just 56 second into the game. Ivy followed with a pair of touchdown passes to Jarius Moll — of 26 and 35 yards — and the rout was on.

Jarius Moore busted a 38-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 31-0. Robert Porter returned an interception 41 yards for a score, and Rakeem Sims’ 8-yard touchdown run put Jackson State up 45-0 at the half.

In the third quarter, Evan Ingram tossed a 24-yard scoring strike to DeSean McKenzie, and Ryan Griffin blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown.

Jackson State outgained Lynchburg 430-94.
