Eastern Kentucky gets by Miami (Ohio) 17-10

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Jeff Glover threw one pass, but it was enough to give Eastern Kentucky a 17-10 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.

Glover, a wide receiver, took the ball on a reverse and hit Deno Montgomery with a 43-yard scoring strike to give Eastern Kentucky (2-0), an FCS school, the victory over FBS Miami (0-2). The RedHawks have now lost 18 consecutive games. Their last victory was a 23-20 win over Ohio on October 27, 2012.

The RedHawks held a 10-3 lead in the third and were driving for another score when Stanley Absanon picked off Andrew Hendrix’s pass, returning it 55 yards to tie the score.

The RedHawks had 359 passing yards compared to 198 for the Colonels, but Hendrix also threw three interceptions.

Jared McClain and Bennie Coney combined to throw for 155 yards for Eastern Kentucky.
