Ill Vikings DE Griffen questionable vs. Rams

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has been listed as questionable for the season opener at St. Louis.

Griffen was held out of practice Friday for the second straight day due to an illness, but he’s expected to play without limitation Sunday against the Rams. This is Griffen’s first year as a full-time starter, having moved into the spot vacated by the departure of four-time All-Pro Jared Allen.

Three players were ruled out of the game by the Vikings, all backups: linebackers Brandon Watts (knee) and Michael Mauti (foot) and fullback Zach Line (ankle).
