Anne Arundel had expensive primary race

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Anne Arundel County Republican primary for county executive was the most expensive in county history.

The Capital (http://bit.ly/1n2trL4) reports that Laura Neuman and Steve Schuh spent $2.4 million. That’s double what all seven candidates, Democrats and Republicans combined, spent in Anne Arundel’s last primary for county executive in 2006.

Schuh won the June GOP primary with 54 percent of the vote. He outspent Neuman by $600,000.

The newspaper reports Schuh spent $1.5 million in the last 19 months. Neuman spent nearly $900,000 since she started fundraising in May 2013.
