Rutgers’ sells out first Big Ten football game

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers’ first home football game in the Big Ten Conference is sold out.

The university announced Thursday that tickets for the Sept. 13 matchup against Penn State are no longer available.

Athletic Director Julie Hermann also announced that a record 30,927 season tickets have been sold and there are no more available. Small quantities of single-game tickets are still available for fans who want to attend the Michigan and Wisconsin games along with the remaining home games, including the home opener against Howard.

Student tickets will be distributed on a single-game basis through the Scarlet Lottery for all 2014 home football games.

Seating capacity for High Point Solutions Stadium is 52,454.
