Rockets sign forward Tarik Black

HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Rockets have signed forward Tarik Black, who played on their summer league teams in Orlando and Las Vegas.

The 6-foot-8 Black played two seasons at Memphis and one at Kansas, averaging 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in his career. In his lone season at Kansas, he was named preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and went on to average 15 points per game in the NCAA Tournament.

Black averaged 10 points and six rebounds in five games in the Orlando Summer League. He played in eight games for the Las Vegas team.
