Actor Kevin Spacey has a stint in D.C. and it’s not with ‘House of Cards’

Two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey will be in the nation’s capital soon, but not to film his Netflix series, “House of Cards.” He’ll show off his vocal talents at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington for a one-night-only concert Sept. 29.

Backed by a 40-piece orchestra, Spacey says he’ll hum a few Billy Joel tunes, some Simon & Garfunkel, a bit of Sinatra and swing, and may even have a few surprise guests. Proceeds will benefit scholarships and grants for emerging artists. According to his Kevin Spacey Foundation website, the show will feature “an evening of stories and song.”

Proceeds from the show will help fund the foundation, which chose Pace University in New York to be the first to receive its scholarships and funding support. Tickets are $104 and are still available. A $2,500 VIP ticket gets you into, as the website put it, “an elegant cocktail reception and supper” following the concert, outside of Poste, located in the Hotel Monaco D.C. — where you may get to meet Frank Underwood and his pals from “House of Cards.”
