(Updated at 2:55 p.m.) Arlington County firefighters and paramedics are on the scene of a serious accident on the GW Parkway.

At least one person was reported to be trapped in a vehicle and seriously injured following the accident, which occurred near the Windy Run overpass, northwest of Spout Run. Three victims total are expected to be transported to local hospitals, including one via U.S. Park Police helicopter.

All lanes of the GW Parkway are closed between Spout Run and Route 123, according to WTOP.
