D.C. police investigate 2nd shooting death

WASHINGTON (AP) – D.C. police say they are investigating two deadly weekend shootings.

Police say 30 year-old Joseph Denard Southall was found dead about 1:30 a.m. Sunday when officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 600 block of Edgewood St NE.

On Saturday, police say 22-year-old James Ray Sherrod died at a local hospital after he was found wounded in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace NE by officers responding to a report of gunshots.

Investigators are seeking information from the public about the shootings. Police say the department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone wanted for any homicide committed in the district.
