Wizards 2017 playoff schedule released

WASHINGTON – The Washington Wizards will face the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 2017 playoff season Sunday at the Verizon Center.

Heading to the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons, The Wizards are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference as they finished 49-33.

The Atlanta Hawks are seeded fifth.

The Wizards won the 2016-17 regular season series against the Hawks last year, finishing the season with the sixth-best winning percentage in franchise history.

They are also the first team in NBA history to win 49 or more games in a season and to reach 15 games over .500 after starting the season at 2-8 or worse.
