NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The site where a tanker truck exploded and caught fire on Interstate 65 in Middle Tennessee has reopened to traffic.

The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1kNZouW) reports Transportation Department crews Sunday finished removing the bridge in Franklin and making pavement repairs.

The interstate was closed at the site Friday morning after a tanker truck hit a column supporting the bridge. The resulting explosion and fire killed the driver, 67-year-old Bobby Bobo of Columbia.

The southbound lanes had remained closed since the crash. The northbound lanes reopened Friday afternoon, but were closed again Saturday for the bridge removal.

Transportation officials say crews are building a new bridge over the interstate, but it will take at least 75 days.
