Late rush-hour headaches expected in Va.

Tim Bracken, wtop.com

The late-morning commute could be a headache for drivers on Route 7 between Sterling and Tysons Corner today.

Workers with the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project will be transporting large assembly structures for a traction power substation to a site south of the Dulles Toll Road, near The Barns of Wolf Trap. The trucks will be traveling between Sterling and Trap Road between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. today through Thursday.

Here’s what you need to know:

Tuesday and Wednesday:

  • Trucks carrying elements of the traction power substation will move out of Sterling on northbound Route 28 to N. Sterling Boulevard, then east on Route 7 to Trap Road.

Thursday:

  • Crews will move a disassembled large crane from the work site, traveling west on Route 7, then south on Route 28 to a staging area at Dulles Airport
