WASHINGTON — The “happiest place on earth” may feel more like the “most expensive place on earth.”

A one-day ticket to Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will cost more than $100 when a price increase goes into effect in February. It will be $105.00 plus tax, WDW News Today reports.

The price for tickets to Magic Kingdom will increase from $99 beginning Sunday, reports Orlando, Florida’s ABC station, WFTV.

Tickets for Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Animal Kingdom will be $99.00 (plus tax) — an increase from $94.

Disney did not comment on the reason for the price hike, WFTV reports.

Disneyland is expected to receive similar ticket price increases in February, too, WDW New Today reports.

Price hikes are nothing new for Disney’s parks. Since 2003, the price of a one-day ticket has just about doubled, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

In fact, Disney increases the price of its one-day tickets a little bit each year, but this is the first time it will reach more than $100.
