Tigers’ Hunter hit in hand by pitch, leaves game

NEW YORK (AP) — Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter has left a game after being hit in the left hand by a pitch from New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances.

Hunter was struck in the ninth inning of a tie game Tuesday night. A trainer came out for a check, and Hunter exited.

Betances hit Hunter with a curveball. An inning earlier, the All-Star reliever threw a 100 mph fastball to strike out Tigers star Miguel Cabrera.
