Metrobus to resume service

WASHINGTON — Metro will restore limited bus service on major roadways starting at 10:30 a.m.

Metrobuses will operate under a “severe snow plan.”

Under that plan, here’s what Metro says will happen:

  • Only selected Metrobus routes operate. Many routes remain suspended.
  • Buses run only major arterial roadways.
  • Some pre-established detours will be in effect.
  • Where service does operate, expect delays and possible detours due to road conditions.

Metrobus service has been suspended since just before 4 a.m. Overnight service also was canceled.

MetroAccess is canceled for Tuesday.

Metrorail subway trains are operating above and below ground, running on a Saturday schedule. All Metrorail trains are running every 12 minutes.

Whenever and wherever you’re going, you’ll want to stay tuned to WTOP and check Metro’s website before you go.
