Officials closing street to remove tree from park

WASHINGTON (AP) — Transportation officials in Washington say they’re closing a stretch of 15th Street for several hours to remove a tree from Meridian Hill Park.

Officials say 15th Street in northwest Washington will be closed between W Street and Chapin Street on Monday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Officials say the National Park Service will be removing a tree that has become hazardous.
