COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) — A Howard County police officer and five civilians are injured after a crash between a police vehicle and a SUV.

Police say a Ford Expedition crossed the center line on Waterloo Road late Saturday night and sideswiped a marked police cruiser. After the crash, the SUV veered off the roadway and overturned.

Police say Officer Sara Dorsey was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two adults and three children in the Ford Expedition were injured and were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma with non-life- threatening injuries.

Police identified the SUV driver as a 35-year-old Baltimore man. An investigation is underway in the case.
